This story is about…

Name: Datsa Gaile

Location: UK

Company: For Any Woman

Industry: Online Media

What motivated you to start your business?

For more than 4 years, I have been in a media business as a founder and chief editor. As a small start-up company, everything from editorial to putting magazines out on stands could be part of my day. Now, I have been able to specialize more and I have started a new online media: For Any Woman. As an editor, I supervise content including the work of our editorial team as well as advertising sales. I am a firm believer, especially with a strong niche like ours, that ads are content and we work for the best fit for readers and businesses alike. My background in Business Management as the owner of a media business, helps to give us an edge when we launch new projects, driving the company forward with research and enthusiasm. I am famous for having new ideas percolating and I look forward to implementing new design, editorial and even new publication For Any Woman and events this year.

Tell us about your business…

This is a new online project «For Any Woman» which will focus on real women and real stories.

The idea of this project is to keep life as real as possible and on a positive note. We will be writing positive stories about real women’s beauty, health and wellness, family and lifestyle, spicy and sexy stories, fashion and many other useful subjects. There will be a modelling part and you will see that you don’t have to be tall and slim and young to model.  Time after time, you will be able to take a part in competition to win a professional makeover and photo-shoots by our professional team. Also, we will be working with different beauticians to make sure we can give you some fantastic treatments time after time.

What were the first few steps you took to get your business up and running?

I started with business planning – what I was going to do and how. I started to look for the designers, writers, and bloggers. Because I am experienced with online business, it was much easier this time to plan and to set it all up.

What has been the most effective way of raising awareness of your business and getting new customers?

Tapping into social media and also my followers from my previous media business.

What have been your biggest challenges so far with running your business?

The challenging aspects can be learning how to run the business, coordinate everything and learning how to make it work.

How did you overcome these challenges?

You learn more and more from each situation.

What do you love about running your own business?

I love that I can plan my own time and choose what job or business to do.

What advice would you give to other business owners?

Before you start your own business you have to realise and understand that it will take lots of your time. It will not be working 9am to 5pm. If it doesn’t work out in the early stages, don’t give up and just keep going.  You can start your free website any time…you just need to know who is going to be your audience, how you will encourage people to interact and read your website (through social media, interesting stories) and you have to know what will be your niche market. Start with a strong plan and your ideas will come.

Also, you have to believe in everything you are doing. You have to believe in your product, your service and in yourself.

How do you keep motivated through difficult times?

I love reading positive things about positive people. In each difficult situation, I try to find something useful and good because you learn from each situation whether it is easy or difficult!

What’s your favourite quote?

“It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you came from. The ability to triumph begins with you. Always.”

{Oprah Winfrey}

Who inspires you?

I get inspired by successful speakers and entrepreneurs like Tony Robbins, Dani Johnson, Donald Trump, Michelle Mone, Richard Branson and the Dragons in UK. I find it fascinating to fine out how they have progressed and how I can follow in their footsteps.

Do you have a business philosophy?

I learn from each situation and I listen and learn from the people who have done better than me and follow them.

Do not criticized other people just because you think it is not how you would do it! If you fail, try again. The only people who fail are those who don’t try, so keep going!!
