What does your business do?
TheVintageScarf.com is a virtual Vintage Clothing Boutique, specializing in one of a kind vintage scarves and fashion accessories from the 1940’s through the 1990’s including a beautiful selection of Vintage Lingerie Vintage Handkerchiefs Vintage Pins And Brooches Vintage Button Covers and Vintage Scarf Slides.
What made you decide to start your own business?
After many years working behind a desk I wanted to follow my true passion and start my own business. You work many many more hours but you are the business, you are the boss, you are it! If something is wrong you answer to yourself not a boss that you have to try and explain why.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
The Vintage Scarf is an online only boutique and trying to get the word out and marketing is the hardest part.
How did you overcome these challenges?
It will always be a work in progress. One of the things that I have done is to have giveaways on blogs that have a following or over 100 people. I send them a scarf of my choice, they incorporate it in their wardrobe and post it on their blog. So far it has done very well. What advice or tips would you give to other business owners?
If you are passionate about this you have to work at it and I mean work at it. I have a plaque on my desk that says Never Never Never Give Up! You might want to walk away and throw your hands in the air but if you do that you will never know how close you could have come.

Who inspires you?
I inspire myself because you are the only true one that believes in what you are doing. It is in your heart.
