I went to have a chat with a fabulous lady who owns an award winning spa near where I live. This place is a little mecca of cool within the hustle and bustle of city life. You walk in and can instantly breathe and feel connected to yourself again. How cool is that?! If you’re interested it’s www.independentmindbodysoul.com I wanted to talk to her about setting up a spa and a couple of other ideas I had and what would be the best route to take. Vicky had an insane amount of knowledge and was a true business lady. I wanted to be her. You know when you want to hang around someone just to try and get into their mindset of how to make a business successful? I had an instant gut feeling that I could learn so much and felt like a sponge trying to soak up all her advice. She was super lovely and organised a meeting for me with her business manager of the spa so I could come along and have another chat, and get some work experience. Lucky for me, I ended up with a part time role in their spa on hours to suit around my full time role! I was and am so excited about this as it hit me like a tonne of bricks that I hadn’t a clue how to run a spa and I needed guidance. Luckily for me, this came in the form of a job with them and I’m so excited to start learning more!
It’s great because I am fine tuning my idea and getting to grips with everything for the rest of the year before countdown on the 1st January starts to 1st September to get something set up or at least near enough there. It’s crazy when you start to think about it all. I could very easily be overwhelmed but I’m just focusing on moving slowly forwards and in the right direction and knowing that everything at the minute, is how it should be and once I feel ready, it will all come together. Yes, you may think I’m a tad too positive and should be more realistic but it’s helping me not to panic thinking this way and avoiding my analysis paralysis I’ve been known to get so badly in the past. For now, I’m going to carry on making small steps forward and whilst it might not be at the pace I would want, maybe it’s the universe telling me it’s not quite the time to get started yet. There is so much more to learn.
