We are hard on ourselves these days.
Like, super hard.
We wear our “busy” like a badge of honor, push ourselves well past our breaking point, and then wonder why our brain feels so foggy all the time.
Brain fog – or lack of mental clarity – can create issues for anyone, especially an entrepreneur who needs maximum brain functionality.
While we may not be able to control everything, there are a few brain hacks to help regain a little mental clarity and have our mind firing on all cylinders again.
3 TRICKS TO RESET YOUR MENTAL CLARITY
Rather than preach the obvious – i.e. meditate, write out hefty to-do lists – I’m going to give you actionable tips that are tried, tested and true, and best of all, simple to complete on a daily basis.
Let’s have at it, shall we!
1. Have a good ol’ brain dump.
Sometimes the reason our brain gets so fuzzy is because we’ve got too many awesome ideas battling for your attention.
One of the best things you can do for yourself is write down every single idea you have rumbling around up there. This is what we refer to as a “brain dump.” And yes, I even mean the not-so-awesome ideas.
Brain dumps – though not an orally appealing term – give us the opportunity to vet each and every idea. If after writing it down you don’t think it’s a thought worth following through with action, release it from the fuzz and free up a little brain space.
2. Fuel the fire.
We do not run on fumes. To keep our fire burning bright we need to fuel up.
What’s the best way to do that? With brain stimulating foods, of course!
There are several foods that can dramatically improve your mental clarity. Foods rich in vitamins B, C and E support brain health, improve cognitive function and maintain healthy nerves for quick thought response.
Try adding foods like salmon, avocado, broccoli, nuts, potatoes, spinach, sunflower seeds, eggs and whole grains to your diet. Besides being tasty, they are beneficial to your brain and in turn, will benefit your business.
3. Get a move on.
The final step to burning off the brain fog is to get moving.
That’s right. Stand up from your desk, grab your sneakers and pound a little pavement.
Daily exercise is essential for mental clarity. Besides giving yourself time to think, a quick walk, jog or solo dance party will help circulate oxygen to where you need it most; your brain.
Strapped for time? No worries. Spending as little as 15-20 minutes a day moving around is all you need to shake off those mental cobwebs.
Unlike my previous posts with techy tips like How To Create Killer Copy, this wink of wisdom is meant to prevent breakdowns.
Take a few moments of your day to dump, dine and dance your way into mental clarity that will build the foundation for business building stamina.
How do you maintain your brain clarity?
