Most of us aren’t where we want to be, not because we’re not capable, but because of the limiting beliefs we have about ourselves, or that we let other people project onto us.
We tell ourselves we can’t go for our dreams because we’re not that type of person, or that we’re not good enough. We underestimate ourselves and let other people underestimate us.
So this is what I wanted to talk about in this episode. I saw a post inside our Members’ Club Facebook group that was so amazing and powerful – it’s a message that we all need to hear over and over again. The post said:
“All my life I’ve been told I’m the quiet, sensible one, the one who is good at being a stay at home mum, baking in the kitchen. I don’t have a degree and I didn’t go to uni. I have always been told that I am the kind one, not the clever one. In turn, I’ve always done jobs that are cooking, baking and looking after kids…
Last year… I quietly decided to start my own business supporting other business owners with the tasks I had learnt to do in my own [tearoom and baking] business… yesterday I applied to be a Mailerlite expert, I’ve completed all their academy training. I love email marketing and content, creating for social media so much! And YES I am good at it, little old me!
ME YES ME. Just a mum at 19 me!
Now at 43, I’m running a successful business supporting others gain more customers and visibility through Email/content marketing and I should have done it years ago.
I just wanted to say, believe in you, you are always more than others say you are and that is their story about you, not yours! You are enough!”
So many of us feel “boxed into” certain buckets in our life, that we’ll never be the kind of person that would actually go and build a successful business.
