Jim Rohn has always been a favourite in the world of personal development. In this week’s Motivational Monday video, he reminds us that the journey to success and taking charge of your own life involves walking away from the 97%. Here are my top 3 take-aways…
WALK AWAY FROM THE 97%
When we start out on the path to success, part of the challenge is having to change our association and take the path less travelled. Jim Rohn reminds us that when we make the commitment to live a better life, we are also making the decision to walk away from how most people live. Jim Rohn says, “Be a part of the few.” Remember, being a part of the few is a good thing!
TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE
Taking charge of your life feels like a huge task, but it really boils down to your ability to take charge of your day. Most people just drift throughout the day with no particular vision to guide and focus their day-to-day activity. Jim Rohn says don’t have days like most people have days. Think about how you can be incredibly stellar at how you take charge of how you spend your time. Do you really feel like you are in charge?
THE START IS SIMPLE
I love how Jim Rohn reminds us of how simple it is to just start. The art of walking away from the majority and taking charge of your life can start with something as simple as keeping a journal of your reflections, goals, and progress. It could be as simple as committing to read from a personal development book every day or walking around the block for exercise.
So walk away from the 97% and join the few who are committed to having what most people can’t have because of their willingness to do what most people won’t do. :)
Over to you…
What one simple discipline are you going to put into practice in order to take charge of your life even more? Tell us your answer in the comments…
