Whether you’re just starting out in business, or have been in business for years, you’ll have challenges. That’s just how it is. Challenges let us grow and they can either make it harder or, if you use what I’m sharing today, when sh*t happens, you’ll have a much easier time. Sound good?
The way you handle anything will affect how it goes for you. This is why I’m revealing exactly what I use in my life and business to help you move through any challenge. These very secrets have helped me through my last 3 launches, cross the 6 figure mark, with team hires, and move through website glitches.
Before we get to the 3 secrets, let’s do a little house cleaning. When you are met with a challenge, what’s your usual reaction? Do you freak out, blame yourself, blame someone else, or ask questions like, “Why is this happening to me?” The number one reason any challenge becomes harder is because you have resistance to what’s showing up. The challenge throws you off. You stress out, feel out of control, then go into hyper-control-mode, or maybe you just shut down. I’ve been there and it’s no fun.
Use these 3 secrets to ease any frustration that comes up around challenges. Play with each of these secrets with what you’re not really loving in your business, before the bigger challenges show up. And if you are in the middle of a hairy issue now, then you’re in luck…
VALIDATE YOURSELF
Validate yourself for doing a great job, no matter where you are right now. Say, “[your name], you’re doing a great job!”
Perhaps you’ve been working your tush off and are not able to meet a deadline, or your to-do list is overwhelming you, or you feel like you are always playing catch up. Most likely, you are invalidating yourself, and if one more thing happens, you are going to break.
Even if you messed up and forgot to do the most important thing, validate doing a good job at the mess up. Test it out now, “[Name], you’re doing a great job!” Sounds crazy, but it works!
RELEASE THE RESISTANCE
Be amused by the challenge, issue, or mistake that shows up. By laughing at it, you will begin to release the resistance.
Maybe your website just crashed, 50 people just unsubscribed, a client just told you they can’t pay you, (or fill in the blank). You’ve been feeling like you’ve been hit by everything that could possibly go wrong. You are probably in uber serious mode, using effort to figure everything out, and about to pull your hair out.
The last thing you want to do is laugh, and it’s the first thing that will loosen up your energy to help things move. It does not have to be a belly laugh. Test it out, 1, 2, 3 – ha, ha, ha… Again, it sounds crazy, but it works!
ASK BETTER QUESTIONS
Ask better questions like, “Why is it so easy?”
Perhaps you just started your business and have to figure out how to create a sales page, or you have been in business and have to hire your first assistant. In your head you’re thinking, “Why is this so hard?” You ask questions of why I can’t get this, or why someone who is working for you is not working out.
Fill in the blanks with the thousand questions you ask a day that only make things harder for you. When you are met with any challenge, ask this question: “Why is it so easy?”
Instead of getting stuck on finding the answer, just ask the question. Try it now… “Why is it so easy?” Play with it and see what happens.
Feeling better yet?
It’s easy to react. Now you have tools to handle any challenge, situation, or issue that comes up and release resistance to what used to throw you for a loop. Enjoy growing your business with ease!
