How to move past negative thoughts // Motivation Monday

Have you ever found yourself feeling really down and frustrated because you have negative thoughts and beliefs running through your mind all the time and you can’t seem to get them to go away?

In the past I have gone through phases where the negative voices in my head became overwhelming. Every day I’d be consumed with thoughts like “everything is so rubbish, I can’t do it!” and the biggest problem, aside from the fact that these thoughts made me feel so unhappy, was that they were stopping me from making the progress I wanted to make towards living the amazing life I dreamed of.

Our thoughts are powerful.

Now, I don’t believe we can ever totally get rid of our negative thoughts, but we do have the power to choose to let them go and not focus all of our energy and focus on them. This is one of the best lessons I’ve ever learned and harnessed – in fact learning how to be more in control of my thoughts was a game changer for me. It’s something that helped me to get out of the rut I felt like I was in a few years ago and start achieving the things I wanted to achieve.

So in this week’s Motivation Monday video I wanted to share with you this clip from Oprah’s Lifeclass where she shares a powerful exercise that will help you to realise how in control you really are and this will help you to move past any negative thoughts that you are stuck on.
