Have you ever felt like in order to be successful or in order to be a serious business owner you have to wake up really early? I used to feel guilty if I didn’t get up super earlier and start work. I interviewed a successful entrepreneur not so long ago and she told me that all successful entrepreneurs get up at 5am! So that night I set my alarm for 5am and when the alarm went off I managed to drag myself out of bed… I was dead to the world until about 9am, because it totally wiped me out – not a productive start! As entrepreneurs we rarely have people telling us what to do or what time we need to get up at – we decide. So why do we end up feeling guilty if we stay in bed for longer? Well, feel guilty no more – I recently watched a short talk by Arianna Huffington on TED about the power of sleep. She says instead of bragging about our sleep deficits, we should shut our eyes and see the big picture: We can sleep our way to increased productivity and happiness – and smarter decision-making. It’s a really interesting video and made me realise how important sleep is and how important it is that you follow a daily routine that works best for you.
