What motivated you to start your business?
I was made redundant from my role within Sheffield City Council while I was pregnant. I have always wanted to be my own boss and being made redundant gave me the prefect opportunity, especially as I needed more flexibility once my son was born.
Tell us about your business…
I am a Personal Trainer and I specialise in getting women results from their training. I am an expert in transforming women’s fitness programmes in order for them to start seeing the results they desire.
What is a day in the life of you like?
I spend all day with my son and then see clients on an evening, perfect!
What have been your biggest challenges so far with running your business?
I have found it difficult to attend networking meetings as a lot are held during the day.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I network online through twitter and LinkedIn. I also found evening networking sessions that I can attend around seeing clients.
What have you found to be the most effective way to get new clients?
Social media and my strong online presence is the most effective form of marketing my services
What advice would you give to other business owners?
Know your target market and who you are trying to attract to your business.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I am passionate about what I do and seeing my clients strong and enjoying exercise keep me motivated.
