As a woman I have personally never questioned my ability to set up a business, to do as I please or to make my dreams come true. However, International Women’s Day got me thinking… what would it have been like as a woman trying to be independent and start a business in the first part of the last century? It would have been totally different.
As women we’ve come so far over the past century. Our roles have changed and expanded and now, for most of us, we are able to be independent, entrepreneurial and driven to be successful in our own right.
So this year, for me, International Women’s Day is a day to be thankful for the opportunities we now have. It’s also a day to remember just how much we can all accomplish when work as a team and support each other.
When I read over the stories women have shared on FEA it makes me smile – there are some truly amazing and inspirational women in the world and I hope that by sharing the stories they inspire others to achieve more.
