What does your business do?
I currently have 4 businesses and one that I closed down recently to completely revamp and relaunch into a different sector than it is in currently.
Ok, so I began 6 years ago when I bought out the oldest estate agent in Liverpool, Roberts Edwards & Worrall which had been trading for 150 years.
I then split the business into 2, one side is Selling houses and the other is Property Rental and Management.
Since then as supporting arms of both of the businesses, I have a property maintenance and a cleaning business.
Additional to that I own a nail and beauty business on the Wirrall, Merseyside which I have recently closed down and will be reopened in 2 weeks as a Laser Skin Clinic which will provide Permanent hair removal, Tattoo Removal, Thread vein removal and treatments for acne, to name but a few.
I intend to expand this business quite rapidly throughout Merseyside.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
The down turn in the housing market has been a major challenge and still is. I see it continuing for the foreseeable future.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I overcome challenges by stepping back and rethinking what is going on, trying to take a look from the outside looking in. Its very hard sometimes as the old saying comes into play “cant see the wood for the trees” but soon it becomes the way to approach alot of things.
What advice or tips would you give to other business owners?
My advise would be, if you see an opportunity and feel passionate about it, then do it!!
Who inspires you?
My children inspire me, I have a 9 year old and a 2 year old. I want to make a safe and secure and happy surrounding for them.
