Nancy Dietze decided to set up her own business Virtually Yours, after the crash of the real estate market. Read her story below.
What does your business do?
I provide administrative support/services to real estate agents, small business owners, and entrepreneurs. The majority of work is done in my home office via email and phone. My website is www.virtuallyyoursadministrativeservices.com. It has my bio, list of services, portfolio, and testimonials.
What made you decide to start your own business?
I was a licensed real estate assistant until 2007, when I was laid off due to the real estate market. A lot of companies were laying off assistants at the time to save money, and many agents were left alone, so it just made sense to start a virtual assistance business. I started targeting agents, but have since picked up several non-real estate clients. My license is still active, so I am able to show property and host open houses for agents.
What have been your biggest challenges so far?
Creating a national presence and finding more clients.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I haven’t overcome this challenge yet, but am working hard at it. I just signed on with a social media expert to help with Facebook marketing.
What advice or tips would you give to other business owners?
Patience, patience and perseverance, and also a lot of networking. I belong to several networking groups and get referrals from them.
What’s your favourite quote?
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
Who inspires you?
I inspire myself and my friends and husband inspire me with their constant support.
