I’m so excited to share the She Means Business Podcast with you! This podcast is an extension of my book, it’s a way for me to share more inspiring stories from incredible entrepreneurs around the world. Every Thursday I’m going to be bringing you a new episode, so be sure to subscriber on iTunes here, so you don’t miss them.
To kick things off I’ve got an amazing episode for you with the lovely Amy Porterfield!
Through her best-selling marketing courses, thriving Facebook community and top-ranked podcast, Amy inspires a grounded, tangible and self-affirming sense of “Wow! I really can do this” for over 250,000 online entrepreneurs. She’s built a hugely successful online business and in this episode she takes us behind the scenes and shares her story with us.
Amy’ story proves that we can all make the most incredible things happen when we are willing to make the effort to make them happen. It takes diligence, hard work, and lots of determination, but it can be done. I hope you are as inspired by Amy’s story as I am…
Everything is a stepping stone.
Once Amy began to realize that she wanted to be in greater control of her own destiny and that her dreams would not come true working for somebody else, she steered her life in a different direction. But she didn’t do it all at once. She decided to learn all she could from every opportunity she had while she was working for someone else and then she applied what she learned as she began building her own business.
How do you know when it’s time to let go of something successful to do something new?
Amy had her first big success through an online course that she continued to refine over time, making it better and better and charging more and more for it. But the time came when she knew that it was time to move on to other products and services. How did she know it was time? I asked her that on this episode and she gave a very personal and powerful answer, so I hope you take the time to listen.
Any time Amy Porterfield feels the need to rush, she intentionally slows down.
Some of the biggest mistakes Amy’s made on her entrepreneurial journey were caused by a feeling that she had to rush. But she’s come to realize that those times are exactly when she needs to slow things down. It’s the feeling of rush that tips her off to the possibility that she’s probably trying to meet a standard other than her own. On this episode, Amy very transparently shares those mistakes and tells how she’s learned to follow her own sense of timing instead of letting the pressure get to her.
80% of success is mindset, 20% is mechanics.
Amy also talks about how important mindset is. She talks about the lessons she learned from working with Tony Robbins, including: 80% of success is mindset and 20% is mechanics. I was so amazing to hear behind the scenes of Amy’s story! I hope you love it.
